The MattyCollector.com Fan Forum is a community of collectors sharing their passion for Mattel toys. To keep it fun for all, here are the guidelines for Fan Forum usage and the consequences for violations of your membership agreement. If everyone keeps these basics in mind, the experience should be a great one:
* Keep your posts on-topic.
* Be respectful of your fellow collectors.
* No crude language or inappropriate content.
Discussion-Related Suspensions
When unacceptable behaviors occur (posting inappropriate content, behaving disrespectfully, etc.), memberships and/or accounts may get temporarily (or permanently) suspended. Here are the current guidelines regarding membership and/or accounts suspensions:
* 1st offense: Warning by moderator + 1 week moderation of posts. All bulletin board posts by the member during that period will go into a moderation queue, and will need to be approved by a moderator before release to general discussion. Repeated offenses while under moderation will extend that moderation for an additional week from the repeat offense.
* 2nd offense: Warning by moderator + 2 weeks suspension. This means the member’s bulletin board access is suspended for two weeks.
* 3rd offense: Membership revoked.
Agreement-Related Suspensions
In the event of violations and infractions of the membership rules, per the Member Service Agreement, the policy will be as follows:
* 1st offense: Warning by moderator + 1 week suspension. Bulletin board access will be suspended for one week.
* 2nd offense: Warning by moderator + 2 weeks suspension. Bulletin board access will be suspended for two weeks.
* 3rd offense: Membership revoked.
Please note: the only difference between discussion-related and membership agreement-related violations is for 1st offense violations. 2nd and 3rd offenses carry the same penalties.
Right to Suspend or Terminate
A final note for all… the above are guidelines only. It is possible, depending on the severity of a violation, to skip over 1st and/or 2nd offenses and go directly to 3rd offense penalties (revoking memberships). Per item 9 of the Member Service Agreement:
9. Absolute Right to Suspend or Terminate Your Use of the Service. We may, in our sole discretion, (a) suspend or terminate your account, (b) remove any Content, and (c) terminate or modify all or any portion of the Service. We may exercise these rights for any reason or no reason, all without notice or liability to you or anyone else.
